BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan has called on the party workers and activists to be ready to fight for securing Khaleda Zia’s release.
He said, “Our leader is ill; if she is not brought under free air and light and given proper treatment, we will lose her.”
He made the comments on Friday (Apr 12) at a protest meeting held at the National Press Club in demand of the release of BNP chief Khaleda Zia and other party workers.
Saying that no autocratic regime managed to survive in the face of public uprising, he observed, “The repressive regime of Marcos in the Philippines fell when people blocked the path of tanks; you need to show same kind of resolve and courage.”
We are prepared to take part in any movement to secure release of Khaleda Zia.
Calling the much talked about parole issue a government concocted ploy, he added, “We should not give this parole drama any importance.”
