FILE PHOTOClaiming Awami League becomes isolated from people and politically bankrupt, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said the AL government deliberately negotiated with conspirators to cling on to power.
“AL has hung onto power at gun point and by taking over the state mechanism. Staying on power by force can’t last long,” he said on Saturday (Apr 6).
Speaking at fourth National Council of Kalyan Party in Dhaka, Mirza Fakhrul said, “AL always blamed BNP for come into power through conspiracy. BNP never hatched conspiracy to assume the office.
BNP has always come into power through fair polls, never took office through backdoor,” he added.
The senior BNP leader claimed his party members face as nearly 5,000 ‘fictitious’ lawsuits, that has no valid ground.
At the council, Major General (retd) Syed Muhammad Ibraim has been reelected as chairman of Kalyan Party and MM Aminur Rahman was made secretary general.
Kalyan Party is an ally of BNP-led 20-Party Alliance.
