His claims during a media call on Wednesday (Mar 27) at the party headquarters in Naya Paltan.
Saying that the incarcerated BNP chairperson did not receive any medical treatment, he commented, “In the last three-and-half months, she did not get any treatment and was deprived of essential medical tests.”
“If her condition deteriorates then the government, prison authority and home ministry will have to take responsibility,” he said.
Fakhrul lamented that when Khaleda went to prison she was a healthy person but now she is so unwell that she cannot walk properly.
“She was brought to BSMMU last October but was taken back to prison on Nov 8 without the permission of the doctor overseeing her treatment.”
The veteran BNP leader also said that Khaleda Zia, who is a diabetic, did not have regular sugar level monitoring.
Fakhrul said that his efforts to talk to IG prison failed and that she is being brought to court by force.
