Awami League never boycotts election like other political parties those have lost faith in people, says AL Presidium member Mohammad Nasim.
“BNP boycotts election and stays away from people. Because people have no faith in BNP,” he said on Friday while speaking at the commemorative programme of AM Rafiq in Dhaka.
Referring to BNP and other like-minded parties, Nasim said, “You took part in the elections while your leaders are behind bars, but you left in the middle of the voting.
“What sort of movement do you (BNP) wage so that your leaders can’t be freed? It’s your failure,” he said.
Nasim, who is the spokesperson of AL-led 14-party Alliance, urged BNP and its allies to join the ongoing the fifth Upazila Council elections.
“People will be forgetting if you (BNP) stay away from elections,” he said.
