Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the BNP’s student affiliate, has demonstrated on the Dhaka University campus to press home their seven-point demand over the elections to the Central Students’ Union (DUCSU).
A procession was taken out from the Madhur Canteen on Sunday (Feb 24) which marched to offices of the vice-chancellor’s office for a sit-in protest.
The JCD list of demands includes, ensuring a safe environment for a participatory and fair election, setting up polling stations at the academic building instead of residential halls, postponement of the polls for three months and reviewing the age limit (30 years) for contesting the polls.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has announced its panel of candidates for the DUCSU election slated for Mar 11.
