AL allies in 14-party will not be opposition in House

“The allies of 14-party-Alliance will unofficially provide the government with constructive criticism,” he told the media on Tuesday (Jan 29).
He added that the allies of the Alliance’s cannot be part of the official opposition.
Responding to queries about the Upazila council polls in March, he said, “The allies will contest the Upazila polls separately. There is no question of taking part with the coalition.”
Criticizing the BNP the Awami League Presidium member said, “BNP cannot keep on blaming others for its own failures.”
Previously on Jan 19, the HM Ershad led Jatiya Party had called on the elected AL allies to join them as the opposition in Parliament to make it stronger and more functional.
