BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi briefs the media bred at the party’s headquarters on Tuesday (May 15).

The BNP has blamed of widespread ballot-stuffing by ruling party supporters in the last hours of the polls, which it says was at the behest of the Khulna metro police chief.
The allegation came on Tuesday after voting in the Khulna City Corporation election ended.
“According to our information, the police commissioner ordered to stuff boxes with stamped ballots and his force guarded the ruling party supporters to do so at the polling centres from 2:30pm to 4pm,” senior BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told a media briefing at the party’s headquarters.
He claimed that the Awami League rigged in the polls in collusion with administration, law enforcement and the Election Commission.
“And they are on to establish it as a perfect example of a free and fair election,” said the BNP joint secretary general.
