Jatiya Party (JP) wants to emerge as the strong opposition in the 11th Parliament to speak for the nation instead of resorting to violence, says its Co-Chairman GM Quader.
“JP will play a role for the smooth functioning of Parliament,” Quader said on Saturday (Jan 5).
Speaking at a media briefing at the party’s Banani offices in the Dhaka, the JP leader said, “HM Ershad will be the chief of the JP’s parliamentary party as well as the Opposition while he himself will be the deputy-chief.”
“JP will have members in the new cabinet as it will play a positive role in reformation for the sake of the country,” said Quader.
Citing the party chief’s health in a good condition, Quader said, “Ershad will take the oath soon by setting an appointment with the Speaker.”
