Jatiya Oikya Front will win a great victory similar to that of Dec 16, 1971, said the opposition alliance’s leader Dr Kamal Hossain.
“We achieved victory on Dec 16 and will achieve a similar one on Dec 30,” he said during a media briefing on Thursday (Dec 27).
The administration of an independent country cannot be impartial to any political party and added that the alliance’s symbol ‘paddy sheaf’ is not the symbol of any party.
“Vote for ‘paddy sheaf’ for it’s the symbol of freedom.”
Drawing on Bangladesh’s history of fighting autocratic regimes the seasoned politician said, “We defeated the autocrats in ’71 and we will emerge victorious once more.”
Addressing the administration and ruling Awami League, he said, “It’s neither possible to scare away 1.6 billion people or kill them.”
He added that Dec 30 will see a massive vote revolution and that the masses stand united beside Oikya Front.
Slamming AL’s gloating about the country’s development, Hossain said, “It’s not development if democracy and human rights does not come with it.”
He added that preserving democracy was the key to development.
Kamal Hossain said that the likes of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and many others sacrificed their life in order to achieve freedom and Oikya Front winning the upcoming polls will ensure that the martyr’s dream of a free country will be realized.
