As part of its series of protests demanding party chief’s release, the BNP has announced rallies across Bangladesh, including capital Dhaka for Monday (May 7).
However, Gazipur and Khulna will be exempted from the demonstrations for the city corporation elections, senior leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told the media on Sunday.
“We have sought clearance from the police as well as the South City Corporation for a rally in front of the Naya Paltan party headquarters,” he said.
The BNP senior joint secretary general said the Dhaka rally is scheduled for 2pm, if the authorities’ permission is secured.
