Oikya Front will face a vote revolution in the upcoming national polls, said Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
“This time, it will be a vote revolution and messy Oikya Front will be at its receiving end,” he said on Saturday (Dec 1) at the Awami League Chief’s Dhanmondi political office.
Reiterating the ruling parties stance that there is nothing to worry about the polls, he said, “I would like to tell everyone, both Bangladeshi and foreigners – it’s going to be a wonderful election. People will be able to vote for their preferred candidates in a congenial atmosphere.”
“The government will not interfere. Sheikh Hasina-led government is fully cooperating with the Election Commission,” he added.
Claiming that the BNP has not backtracked from their efforts to foil polls, Quader said, “We are concerned that they might resort to unleashing violence.”
When asked how the Awami League sees Jamaat-e-Islami running on BNP’s polls logo, he said the parties share the same value before adding: “The alliance between Jamaat and BNP seemed to be a strategic one, but it’s clear now that’s not the case.”
