“The politics of Awami League is of the people and for the soil of Bangladesh. If we don’t able to come in power, we will not leave the country, we are born here and we will die here too,” Obaidul Quader told a media briefing at AL’s president Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi offices in the city on Friday (Nov 30).
He also remembered the memories of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said, “When Bangabandhu came out from Kurmitola Cantonment, he said that he born in the country, so to die here. We also want to die here in the similar way.”
“We are from this country like the Bangabandhu was and now Sheikh Hasina is”.
Commenting on the announcement of the polls manifesto, he said, “It will be published after finalizing of the nominations of every constituency.”
“Rural development will be prioritized in the manifesto.”
While commenting over the Jatiya Oikya Front leaders who once were involved in AL, he said, “They are willingly sided with evil forces.”
He said, “Those who are come from the grassroots, are given priority in nomination.”
While commenting on the rebel candidate, he said, "They will be expelled from the party."
Responding to a question whether the Grand Alliance had reservations about the sharing of seats, he said, "There may be a grief who fails to secure the AL nomination as it is grand alliance. We will neutralize the matters.”
“Measures will be taken if someone loses patience before the party takes steps to do so,” he warned.
