“We have had talks with all the allies, including the Jatiya Party. Now the issue of sharing parliamentary seats (for the election) is being finalised, which will be formally announced by a day or two,” its General Secretary Obaidul Quader said on Saturday (Nov 24).
It’s yet to be finalised how many seats HM Ershad-led Jatiya Party will get, he told the media after a meeting at the party’s Bangabandhu Avenue headquarters. “The allies will not get more than 65 to seats.”
On Saturday, the Awami League had a meeting with a Jatiya Party delegation led by its Secretary General Ruhul Amin Hawlader.
“We expect to get a fair number of seats,” he said after the meeting at the AL headquarters.
The same day the ruling party held talks with Hasanul Haq Inu-led JaSaD faction and Workers’ Party of Bangladesh led by Rashed Khan Menon.
