Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh will contest the upcoming polls with their electoral symbol ‘kula’ (winnowing platter), however, some of its candidates will use Awami League’s ‘boat’ if negotiations go well.
Its Secretary General Abdul Mannan wrote to the Election Commission (EC) on Thursday (Nov 15) informing the party’s decision.
It said candidates floated by Bikalpa Dhara will take part in the race using the party’s polls logo in line with the RPO.
However, citing the ongoing talks with the ruling Awami League, it said that if there’s an agreement, then some candidates of Bikalpa Dhara and the coalition led by it Jukta Front will contest with ‘boat’.
Earlier on Thursday, Election Commission Secretary Helal Uddin said that Awami League’s list of parties using their polls symbol do not include Bikalpa Dhara.
