“They (Islamists parties) are ready to join the election in line with the Constitution and assured their cooperation to re-elect Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” Quader said on Tuesday (Nov 6).
Quader spoke to the media after emerging from the talks between Awami League-led 14-party Alliance and 12 Islamists parties and coalitions at The Ganabhaban.
The dialogue started at 2:45pm and ended at 4:30pm. AL President Hasina led the 14-party Alliance delegation in the talks.
Quader said, “The parties have raised their demands, which will be considered.
“All parties have expressed their firm stance on the spirit of Liberation War and the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.”
“They praised the leadership of Hasina in the 10 years and there were no differences of opinion in the talks,” said Quader, who is the road transport minister.
Earlier, Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Front (JOF) sat in the dialogue with the Prime Minister on Nov 1, while Dr AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury-led Jukta Front on Nov 2, leaders of 14-party on Nov 4, and HM Ershad-led United National Alliance (UNA) on Nov 5.
The Jatiya Oikya Front will sit in talks again with the 14-party alliance at the Ganabhaban on Wednesday.
