Jatiya Oikya Front is holding their pre-scheduled rally at the capital’s Suhrawardy Udyan.

The venue became packed to the rafters by 2pm on Tuesday soon after the rally began with recitation from religious scriptures.

The newly floated alliance led by Gana Forum chief Dr Kamal Hossain is holding the rally to reiterate their 7-point demands including calls for free and fair polls under a neutral administration and release of BNP chief Khaleda Zia and all political prisoners.

Gana Forum chief Dr Kamal Hossain will speak as the chief guest while JSD president ASM Abdur Rab is the main speaker in the rally, presided over by the BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

Supporters and activists of the Oikya Front started to gather at the rally venue since Tuesday morning with banners, festoons, placards.

No presence of security personnel was seen inside the venue and there were no security screening arrangements at the entrances either, Bangla Tribune’s Crime Reporter Rafsan Jani reports from Suhrawardy Udyan.

On Nov 5, DMP cleared the Oikya Front to hold their rally on 24 conditions included the Front to make their own security arrangements for the rally.
