BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been selected as the spokesperson of the newly floated political alliance Jatiya Oikya Front while Gana Forum General Secretary Mostofa Mohsin Montu has been made the coalition’s coordinator.

The decision was taken on Saturday (Nov 3) night in a steering committee meeting of the Front, held at Gana Forum chief Dr Kamal Hossain’s Motijheel chamber in the capital.

Dr Zahid ur Rahman, who sits on the steering committee, told Bangla Tribune, “Everyone picked Mirza Fakhrul as the spokesperson after ASM Abdur Rab chose to step away from the role.”

On Oct 30, JSD President Rab was made spokesperson of the coalition.
