Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leaders and activists have started a six-hour mass hunger strike in Dhaka as part of its countrywide program protesting the conviction of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia in the Zia Charitable Trust graft case.
The protest began at Mahanagar Natya Mancha at 10am on Thursday (Nov 1), which will continue until 4pm.
Hundreds of BNP leaders and activists joined the program amid strict police vigilance.
The party's senior leaders including Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee Member Moudud Ahmed, Abdul Moin Khan, Vice Chairman Barkatullah Bulu, Joynal Abedin Faruk, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal are present in the protest.
