Bikalpa Dhara wants the upcoming election to be held under a neutral government, said the party’s presidium member Mahi B Chowdhury.
He put forward the demand in a media call on Sunday after a presidium meeting of the Bikalpa Dhara, held at the residence of the party president AQM Badruddaza Chowdhury in Dhaka.
Mahi said that their meeting slammed the two coalitions led by Awami League and BNP for their politics of vengeance.
“These two alliances have totally failed to fulfill the mass people’s expectation of establishing a democratic and non-communal country,” he said before vowing to do politics for the religious minorities and backward communities.
He also told media about their party’s demands regarding the upcoming polls.
Mahi said, “The polls must be held under a neutral administration. EVMs (electronic voting machines) cannot be used and the military must be deployed with magistracy power.”
“All political activists arrested in politically motivated cases must be set free,” added B Chowdhury’s son.
