BNP has expressed their admiration for the Indian Judiciary after a Court acquitted senior party leader Salahuddin Ahmed in a case filed for trespassing into Indian territory.
“My respect for the Indian judiciary has increased,” BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told the media at the party’s headquarters in Naya Paltan on Saturday (Oct 27).
“The Indian government has my gratitude for ensuring a neutral trial procedure,” he added.
The senior politician hoped that Salahuddin will be brought back to the country according to due procedures.
It is a victory for those people who are on the side of democracy, he said.
On the upcoming polls Rizvi said, “A fair election is impossible under Sheikh Hasina’s regime. She knows that she will not be able to hold on to power if a fair election takes place.”
“Hence she has made arrangements to hold one-sided polls,” he added.
Rizvi further accused the prime minister of plotting with the Election Commission saying that she has created an unwanted environment in the country in order to hold on to autocracy.
