“We said on Sunday that the BNP chairperson is severely ill. Her condition has further worsened. The pain in arms’ leg and hip has increased,” senior leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told the media on Monday.
Responding to query on how they have been informed of Khaleda’s health, he said family members are allowed to visit.
“They told us. Besides, sources cannot be disclosed always,” said the BNP senior joint secretary general.
Calling to ensuring medical care under Khaleda’s doctors’ supervision at the United Hospital, Rizvi claimed the prison authorities ignored the government-formed medical board’s recommendation to provide the former PM with an ‘orthopaedic bed’.

Earlier this month, a medical board of Dhaka Medical College Hospital doctors was formed on reports of her illness.
On Apr 7, she was taken to the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital for medical tests.
The BNP had been demanding from the very beginning for medical care under the supervision of her personal doctors.
