AL draws 19-point plans for polls

After an elaborate discussion, the Committee unanimously decided that it is possible for AL to win the next election upon implementation of the action plans, several policymaking leaders of the party told Bangla Tribune.
The body’s Member Secretary HT Imam, who also serves as the political affairs to the prime minister, presented the action plans.
AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader and Imam, who also sits on the party’s advisory council, will supervise implementation of the action plans, according to several senior leaders, who preferred to go unnamed.
The 19 action plans include forming cell for new voters, developing future plan and new publication materials for party campaign, formulating campaign strategy for social media and electronic media, setting up media centre and coordinating with necessary logistic supports.
The plans also include training for polling agents across the country for the upcoming election.
The action plans also add preparing proposals, if any, for reform to electoral laws and rules before the last session of Parliament, formation of AL-Election Commission Coordination Panel, Polls-Conducting Committees for the over 40,000 polling stations in the 300 parliamentary seats.
Holding extended polls-meeting at all organizational districts, collecting lists of voting centres and voters as well as contact details of all AL presidents and general secretaries of units in metropolitan cities, districts, Upazilas and Union council are also among the plan.
It also includes forming a monitoring cell for Election Commission Secretariat/ regional/district election officers and maintaining liaison with them, formulating election budget and allocating funds as well as maintaining accounts round-the-clock at the party offices.
