Jamaat demands release of BNP chief

Bangladesh Nationalist Party has organised the token hunger strike programme at capital’s Engineers’ Institutions on Wednesday (Sept 12).Jamaat-e-Islami has expressed solidarity and joined the token hunger strike programme of BNP to release its leader Khaleda Zia from jail.
At the programme, Jamaat Nayeb-e-Amir Golam Parwar said, the prime minister is trying to keep Khaleda Zia away from the election by putting her in the jail.
They are spreading rumours and don’t release her even after getting bails, he said.
“Our message is clear. There will be no election keeping Khaleda Zia in jail,” he added.
Jamaat always on the side of BNP to make Khaleda Zia release from the jail, he added.
BNP has organised the token hunger strike programme at capital’s Engineers’ Institutions.
Scores of party activists gathered at the premises and chanted slogan to free Khaleda Zia who is jailed over a graft case since Feb 8, this year.
