BNP seeks meeting with home minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal. FILE PHOTOThe BNP has written to the home ministry seeking an appointment with Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
“A delegation of 10 senior leaders led by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has sought appointment for Sept 9,” Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP chief’s media wing, told Bangla Tribune.
The other BNP leaders are Khandker Mosharraf Hossain, Jamiruddin Sircar, Moudud Ahmad, Mahbub Hossain, Moyeen Khan, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan and Amir Khashru Mahmud Chowdhury.
Sources in the BNP confirmed that the senior party leaders want to discuss about medical care for party chief Khaleda Zia.
A three-time prime minister, Khaleda is now serving a five-year jail sentence in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
She has been kept at the old jailhouse in Dhaka sine Feb 8, when she was convicted of embezzling foreign donations made to the orphanage.
