“We referred United Hospital as it’s a specialised facility, but there are other hospitals as well. She does not want to go to public and we also do not want that, because the government cannot be trusted,” Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said on Friday.
Addressing the media the party’s Naya Paltan headquarters, he said that a letter will be forwarded to the home minister on Friday over the issue.
Quoting family member who met Khaleda in prison on Thursday, the senior BNP leader said that her left hand and left leg are paralysed.
“She can’t even move properly,” he said before alleging that the government was ‘out to kill Khaleda in jail’.
Calling the authorities for measures to ensuring Khaleda’s better treatment in any specialised private hospital, Mirza Fakhrul said, “Or else, the government will be liable, especially for breaching the Constitution and human rights violation.”
