FOCUS BANGLA/file photoAmid internal feuds reported in units across the country, Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has told central leaders to make visits in an effort to obtain a clear picture of the party’s organisational situation.
Her instructions came on Thursday (Sept 6) in a meeting of the party’s Central Working Committee.
Hasina also asked for preparing a list of leaders, who have joined the party from other political outfits, according to people who attended the meeting.
They said the party chief wanted a clear picture of where the organisation stands as well as a full account of MP aspirants and leaders across the country, who are publicly speaking against each other and creating rift within the organisation.
According to them, Hasina described the scenario as a disciplinary issue and ordered General Secretary Obaidul Quader to serve those leaders with show cause notices.
“Committees of units at any organisational level cannot be dissolved before the election. If a show cause notice is not enough, the next move will be expulsion, if necessary,” a Awami Leader, who attended the meeting quoted Hasina.
