Awami League Presidium member Mohammad Nasim serves as the spokesperson of the 14-Party Alliance. The ruling Awami League-led 14-party Alliance will remain on the streets to foil any conspiracies against the upcoming national election slated for late December.
The announcement by coalition spokesperson Mohammad Nasim came on Saturday after a meeting of the alliance leaders held at the newly-constructed building beside the Awami League chief’s Dhanmondi offices.
“The central committee of the 14-party will hold rallies in the divisional cities in phases from September 18, which will continue till the declaration of election schedule…The parties will work together for ensuring the victory of democracy,” Nasim, also a presidium member of the Awami League said.
A vested quarter is conspiring against the parliamentary polls, he said before adding, “They want to create anarchy across the country as they did during the January 5, 2014 election”.
He said the people of the country will not accept any illogical and unconstitutional demand of anyone as there is no scope of vote rigging through Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in this era of modern technology.
Nasim, also the health and family welfare minister, said, “The government won’t accept any unconstitutional activities of anybody. The national election will be held in December.”
On calls for dialogues between political parties before the polls, , he said the 14-party does not want a ‘meaningless dialogue’ as it would only mean differing the election and bringing in an unconstitutional government.
Nasim said, “The people will vote for us again as the present government has been working for the development in every sector of the society. The BNP’s dream for going to power will be turned into a nightmare.”
