BNP wants to hold a public rally at the Suhrawardi Udyan or in front of party headquarters at capital’s Nyapaltan on the 40th foundation day on Sep 1, said the party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
The senior BNP leader came up with the words during a joint meeting at the party headquarters on Tuesday.
“We sought permission to hold a public meeting marking party’s foundation day”, he said.
Talking about the programme schedule, Mirza Fakhrul said that party leaders and activists will pay tribute to the grave of the founder of the party and former president Ziaur Rahman at 11am.
He went on saying, “We will arrange the meeting at 3pm and a discussion meeting will be taken place on the next day at Engineer’s Institute Auditorium in Ramna.”
A good number of BNP leaders and activists were among the present at the meeting.
