BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has gone to the old jailhouse on Dhaka’s Nazimuddin Road on Saturday to meet jailed party chief Khaleda Zia
The former prime minister is serving a five-year term at the facility since Feb 8, when a Dhaka court convicted her of embezzling foreign donations made to the Zia Orphanage Trust.
Mirza Fakhrul arrived at the premises just after 4pm, BNP chief’s media wing staffer Shairul Kabir Khan told Bangla Tribune.
“He went alone to meet the party chairperson,” added Khan.
