Australian High Commissioner Julia Niblett inaugurating the International Development Programme (IDP) Australia higher education exhibition at a city hotel Wednesday. The two-day exhibition on higher education in Australia has begun at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel Wednesday.

Australian High Commissioner Julia Niblett inaugurated the International Development Programme (IDP) Australia higher education exhibition, says a press release.

Currently, over 6,000 Bangladeshi students are studying in Australia and this number is growing each year.

Ms Niblett said, “There are many good reasons for a student from Bangladesh to consider an education in Australia.  Australian universities and educational institutions enjoy an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research, with a strong commitment to quality, high academic standards, and programmes of continuous improvement.”

The exhibition will see 30 Australian institutions in attendance for students to learn about Australian universities and institutions, including the types of courses on offer, costs, and other important information for studying in Australia.

Australia has five of the best cities in the world for students based on student mix, affordability, quality of life, and employer activity.

Each year, the Australian government provides more than $200 million in international scholarships globally.

Since 2002, Austrade has supported IDP to organise two Australian Education Excellence Showcases in Dhaka. The exhibition is free for students and will be open from 10:00 am to 17:00 pm from August 8-9.
