An attack on the house of civil society member Badiul Alam Majumdar was reported on Saturday.
Alam, Secretary of Shushashoner Jonno Nagorik (Sujon), alleged that a group of unruly people also attacked the car of US Ambassador Marcia Bernicat when she was leaving his house at 11pm on Saturday.
“The envoy came to my house to attend a farewell party and her car came under attack when she was leaving. The hooligans also attacked my house. They entered my house and threw stones to damage doors and windows.”
Alam informed the police about the incident and they sent a team to the spot but, yet to get any update, he said.
When asked about who attacked his house, he said, “I didn’t see. I don’t know.”
Meanwhile, an intelligence source said, politician Dr Kamal Hossain and his wife Hamida Hossain, former caretaker government adviser Hafiz Uddin Ahmed and others were also present at the house.
When inquired about it at Mohammadpur police station, duty officer Bayezid said, “I have no information over the incident.”
