Heatwave likely to continue for a week: Met Office

The country has been witnessing a mild heatwave in several regions on Sunday (Mar 29), and it may continue for the coming week.

“A mild heatwave is sweeping over Barishal division and the regions of Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Rangamati, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Hatiya, Khulna, Mongla, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may continue,” said Bangladesh Meteorological Department’s daily weather bulletin on Sunday.

It also mentioned that the heatwave comes as the trough of westerly low lies over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining area while seasonal low lies over South Bay.

The bulletin also said weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.

Meanwhile, according to accuweather, the heat wave may continue for the coming week with temperatures rising up to 39°C.
