Biman flights to 13 int'l routes suspended

File PhotoBiman Bangladesh Airlines has announced that it is suspending flights to selected international destinations from Ap 1 over the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines Managing Director and CEO Mokabbir Hossain disclosed the matter through a text message on early hours of Thursday.
As per the decision, all flights bound for Jeddah, Medina, Riyadh, Dammam, Kuwait, Doha, Muscat and Bangkok will remain suspended from Apr 1 to Apr 5.
The national flag carrier also suspended all Abu Dhabi bound flights from Apr 1 to 7, all Kathmandu bound flights from Apr 1 to 12, all Kolkata bound flights from Apr 1 to 15, all Kuala Lumpur bound flights from Apr 1 to 14, and all Singapore bound flights from Apr 1 to 11.
All Dubai bound flights have already been suspended till Apr 9.
Earlier, Biman suspended 14 flights on seven domestic routes till the end of March as a precaution, in face of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic around the world.
The suspended flights are between Dhaka and Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Barisal, Jessore, Saidpur, Rajshahi and Sylhet.
