Twenty-three Bangladeshi students, who were evacuated by India from COVID-19 affected China and in quarantine in New Delhi, reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and were handed over to their families.
“All the 23 students were flown back to Bangladesh by an IndiGo flight at 2.55pm,” said a foreign ministry statement on Saturday (Mar 14), reports BSS.
In India, they were tested negative for the Coronavirus.
Indian government evacuated the 23 Bangladeshi students along with its nationals free of cost from COVID-19-affected Hubei province of China and kept them in quarantine facilities in Delhi.
Bangladesh government was always in touch with these students and also with the concerned authorities of the government of India and took all initiatives for their wellbeing.
As none of them were infected by corona virus, the concerned Indian authorities released them from quarantine facilities for repatriation them to Bangladesh.
Mentionable that all the cost related to their repatriation from Delhi to Dhaka were borne by the Bangladesh government.
The government is also taking other necessary measures in coordination with the World Health Organization for the safety and security of all the Bangladesh expatriates living in various countries, said the release.
