The bench of Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice AKM Zahirul Hoque gave the order on Thursday afternoon.

In the order, the court said the BNP chief will be given treatment as per the jail code.

Earlier on Wednesday, the vice-chancellor (VC) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) sent a medical report to the court on Khaleda's latest health condition.

On February 18, the BNP chief filed a fresh petition with the High Court seeking bail in the case, citing illness.

It was mentioned in the petition that the BNP chairperson was seriously ill and needed advanced treatment.

On December 12, 2019, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court turned down the bail petition of Khaleda Zia in the graft case.

A Dhaka special court jailed the BNP chief and three others for seven years in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case on October 29, 2018.

Khaleda has been in jail since she was convicted in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case on February 8, 2018.

The BNP chief has been receiving treatment at the BSMMU since April 1, 2019.
