The court also asked why the government, non-government and autonomous body's celebration of national and international programs, in accordance to the Gregorian calendar instead of the Bangla calendar should not be declared illegal.
The bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mustafizur Rahman issued the rule on Sunday (Feb 16) after hearing a writ.
The Cabinet Secretary has been asked to respond to the rule within ten days.
On Feb 12, Naskar Ali from Chuadanga district filed the writ with the High Court seeking necessary order in this regard.
