Reportedly, journalists gathering news of a fire incident at Popular Diagnostic Centre faced resistance and allegedly, three media members were manhandled.
The journalists who came under attack have alleged that the assailants were staff of Popular though the diagnostic centre has refuted the allegations.
One of the persons assaulted was Bangla Tribune photographer Sazzad Hossain.
Jamuna TV journalist Riyaz Raihan who was also manhandled said: “After the fire was doused I was talking to another journalist from Ekattor TV when someone came and asked why we were giving wrong news. The person claimed to be a staff of Popular and when we asked to know the truth lost temper and hit me in the eye.”
Later, he was taken away by others though they claimed not to know the person.
Meanwhile, OC of Dhanmondi Humayun Kabir has said that the person who assailed the journalists will be found out.
