Minor’s body retrieved from Khilgaon canal, another missing in Kadamtali

The body of a four-year-old boy has been retrieved from a canal at Khilgaon in Dhaka on Monday (Feb 3) morning, while another minor is still missing after drowning into a Kadamtali canal in the city.
According to the locals in Khilgaon, Asadul went to play with other children Sunday afternoon, before he fell into the garbage-filled canal.
After incident was reported, fire service divers rushed to the scene and searched for him till midnight, said Ershad Hossain, duty officer of fire service control room.
They resumed their search at 7:40am on Monday and retrieved the body around 9:10am, the duty officer said.
Another minor, identified as five-year-old Tohamoni, was drowned into a canal at Kadamtali’s Miraznagar in Dhaka on Saturday (Feb 1). She is still missing.
Three divers of fire service are searching for her, said Ershad.
The locals said, she fell into the canal while she went to fetch a ball.
Due to heavy garbage on the canal, the fire service divers failed to find the minor so far, according to the locals.
