Taposh casts his vote at Dhanmondi’s Kamrunnesa Govt Girls School around 8:32am on Saturday (Feb 1).
Taposh said that winning or losing was a part of the polls, adding, “I will accept whatever the result comes. However, I hope that Dhaka residents will not disappoint me.”
“We will go to all polling centers including the risky ones. We got information that they [BNP] will attempt to grab 170 centers,” he said before adding that his party would ensure congenial atmosphere during the polls.

BNP's Dhaka South mayoral candidate Ishraque Hossain has said he is prepared to face any obstacle during the polls and will remain in the race till the end.
He made the statement while speaking to reporters after casting his vote at Shahid Shahjahan Government Primary School in Gopibag area around 9am on Saturday.
He said, "I voted for the first time in my life today [Saturday], hence I decided to cast my first vote for BNP."
Ishraque also expressed his optimism about being elected as the mayor in DSCC.
Responding to a query on voting through electronic voting machines (EVMs), he said, "I was able to vote properly through EVM; however the general public is not very informed about the way these machines work."

The BNP-backed mayoral candidate said they have created a monitoring cell to keep watch on the various polling stations in the area.
He claimed, "Some Awami League men have tried to disconnect the CCTV cameras at the polling centres.
"We have also heard that some men attempted to cast votes illegally through EVMs the night before the election day at Bangshal area," he added.
He added that BNP activists have filed a complaint with the mobile court magistrate for the election in this regard.
The voting in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) polls began around 8am and it will continue without any break until 4pm. This is the maiden EVM-only city polls being held in Bangladesh.
As many as 3,010,273 people will exercise their right of franchise at the DNCC, and 2,453,194 at the DSCC elections.
A total of 13 mayoral candidates are vying in the two Dhaka north and south city corporations while around 7,500 candidates are contesting for councillor posts in the two city corporations.
There are 1,318 polling centers in DNCC while 1,150 in DSCC.
Besides, voters in Dhaka north will also elect 54 ward councillors and 18 reserved women councillors. In Dhaka south, 73 ward councillors and 23 reserved women councillors will be elected.
