Dhaka City polls campaign ends Thursday midnight

Campaigns for the Dhaka North and South City Corporation polls, slated for Feb 1, end at midnight on Thursday (Jan 30).
According to the electoral code of conduct, no electioneering is allowed 32 hours prior to the polls open with voting will begins 8am on Saturday (Feb 1).
Around 50,000 personnel of police, Rapid Action Battalion, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and Battalion Ansar will be deployed as mobile and striking forces during the polls.
Meanwhile, 65 BGB platoons have started patrolling on Dhaka streets to maintain law and order with more 10 platoons being kept standby for the polls day.

For the security of polling stations, a 16-member law enforcers team will be on duty at general ones and a team of 18 will be at risky ones.
Besides, two armed force members will give technical supports for voters to use electronic voting machines (EVMs) at each polling station.
