Members of a diabolical CNG killing group arrested

They used to strangle their victims with a muffler and leave the dead bodies on a flyover or a quiet place.
Police said that they also targeted CNG-run three-wheeler passengers. Three members of the gang gave confessional statements on Monday (Jan 26). The suspects have been identified as Nurul Islam, Abdullah Babu and Md Jalal.
Earlier, they were detained from Tongi and Turag area in Gazipur.
On Jan 5 last, they killed Mizanur in a CNG-run three-wheeler and then left his body near the Sonargaon rail crossing. The police recovered the body at 1am on Jan 6. Later, Mizanur’s brother Arif lodged a case with the Hatirjheel police station.
Mizanur RahmanMizanur was a student of the Asian University and worked part-time at the hotel Golden Tulip in Banani in the foods and beverage section. He was supposed to go to Japan in February. One of the arrested, Nurul Islam, said that though he is a CNG-run three-wheeler driver, his main occupation is hijacking. He and seven others formed a deadly killing group. Their area of operation included Ashulia, Abdullahpur, Uttara, Gulshan, Bhatara, Khilkhet, Badda, Tejgaon, Mohakhali, Moghbazar, Rampura, 330 feet, Jatrabari and Signboard.
Nurul informed that in the last 5-6 months, they hijacked 600 people and their activities began after 8pm lasting till dawn.
Those who resisted their hijacking bids were killed and often they pushed half-conscious victims in front of trucks.
Tejgaon division deputy police commissioner Biplob Bijoy Talukder said that efforts are underway to arrest the other members of the ring.
