On Wednesday (Jan 22), rights body Shushasoner Jonno Nagorik (Shujan) has sent the notice to Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda and EC Senior Secretary Md Alamgir.
The notice asked EC to publish the asset details of Dhaka City polls candidates on its website and ensure access to this information from returning officers.
According to the notice, Shujan President Md Hafizuddin Khan and General Secretary Badiul Alam have failed to obtain this information after they mailed the EC several times between Jan 13 and Jan 21.
The local government polls regulation states that all information, submitted by the candidates, including their asset details should be open for public and media access.
If the respondents to the notice fail to answer within 24 hours, the High Court would be moved on Thursday (Jan 23), the notice said.
