The Election Commission has ordered to investigate the ‘attack’ on the campaign of BNP's Dhaka North mayoral candidate Tabith Awal
“BNP has made a complaint and the returned officer has been tasked with investigating the incident and asked to report,” EC’s Senior Secretary Md Alamgir said on Tuesday (Jan 21).
Alamgir was briefing the media after an EC meeting at its Agargaon offices in Dhaka.
Earlier in the day, Tabith’s campaign were came under attack in the city's Gabatali area
According to witnesses, Tabith and other BNP leaders were hurled brickbats around 11.30 am by a group of people raising "Joy Bangla" slogans. Several people were injured, including the mayor aspirant.
