Awami League nominated Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), mayoral candidate, Atiqul Islam has said Beraid will be more beautiful than Hatirjheel.

He said this while addressing a campaign rally at the Beraid Muslim High School field on Tuesday (Jan 21).

Atiqul said: “No one will have to travel to Hatirjheel because Beraid will be a lot more scenic. We also have plans to construct beautiful roads in the area which will be more modern than Gulshan and Banani.”

“A Tk 42 billion development project for Beraid is awaiting approval from Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC). All of us together will work together to take back all the water body which are illegally occupied at the moment,” the mayoral candidate added.

He also said: “A masterplan has been prepared after working with city planners for the development of the area. Every road, drainage system and street lights in the area will be modern and will be setup in a planned manner.”
