As many as 5,760 people have been affected by various cold-related diseases across the country in the last 24 hours, the government's health department said.
Of the affected, 2,078 received treatment for diarrhoea and 2,816 for other diseases including jaundice, inflammation in the eye, skin diseases and fever, according to a statement issued by the Directorate General of Health Services on Friday (Jan 17), reports BSS.
It said another 866 patients were a treatment for acute respiratory infection
Fifty seven deaths were reported across the country between Nov 1 and Jan 16 due to cold-related diseases, the statement added.
