The sweeping cold wave coupled with blowing cooler wind continued affecting people’s normal life and agricultural activities in most part of the country.
The country’s lowest temperature was recorded at 6 degrees Celsius in Tetulia on Tuesday (Jan 7) morning. Dhaka recorded 11.6 degrees Celsius at the time.
A light to medium cold wave is blowing over Faridpur, Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Kurigram, Jashore and Chuadanga regions, said Met Office sources.
“The cold wave is set to continue. It will extend its reach over the next 24 hours,” said meteorologist Arif Hossain.
According to the recent forecast, the sky will remain partly cloudy with fairly dry weather prevailing across the country.
The northwestern regions and the river basins might witness light to medium fog from midnight until morning.
The temperature might increase as the day progresses but it is set to fall again during the night.
In Dhaka, the temperature dropped to 11.6 degree Celsius with a wind speed of nearly 10 nautical miles adding to the cold, the Met office said.
While yesterday, the temperature in Dhaka was 12.5 degree Celsius and the wind speed was around five to six nautical miles.
