The rape case of the DU student has been handed over to Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch.

On Monday(Jan 6), the Victim's father filed the case with Cantonment police station.

The case was transferred to DB (North) by the directives of DMP commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam, said Cantonment police station OC Kazi Shahan Haque.

Meanwhile, doctors have found evidence of rape after a forensic test of the victim.

On Sunday (Jan 5), the victim was followed by an unknown person after getting down at Kurmitola bus stand.

Her classmate said that that she was picked up midway around 7 to 8 pm and taken to a nearby quiet place and raped.

She regained consciousness around 10 pm after which she went to her friend's house from where she was admitted to DMCH around midnight.
