Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Shafiqul Islam speaking to the media on Wednesday (Dec 25).The attack on Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Vice President Nurul Hoque Nur is being probed, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Shafiqul Islam.
“Steps will be taken against those accused in VP Nur’s case if witnesses are found,” he said while speaking to the media on Wednesday (Dec 25).
He added that they were trying to recover the CCTV footage of the DUCSU premises where the attack took place.
On Dec 22, DUCSU VP Nurul Haque Nur and at least 17 of his followers were injured in attacks after heated arguments with leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League on the campus.
The members of the ruling Awami League's student wing, who work under the banner of Muktijuddho Mancha, were reportedly active during the incident in and outside the DUCSU Bhaban.
However, both organisations have denied beating up Nur and the others.
