The Anti Corruption Commission has approved three cases against former Awami League lawmaker AKMA Awal Saydur Rahman and his wife Layla Parveen.
The approval came during a meeting on Monday (Dec 23), said its Deputy Director (Public Relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya.
In addition to the cases, the graft watchdog has also approved the issuance of notice to seek separate wealth statement of the duo.
According to case documents, the former Pirojpur-1 MP has reportedly abused his office to grab three land plots at his constituency, which were transferred to his wife’s name.
