Cutting off woman's hair: HC wants to know administration's steps

Deputy Attorney General Abdullah Al Mahmud Bashar has been ordered to contact Sirajganj deputy commissioner, superintendant of police and Ullapara OC and submit the report by Dec 11.
The bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and KM Kamrul Kader gave the order on Sunday (Dec 8) after a media report was brought to the court’s attention.
On Saturday (Dec 7), a national daily published a report saying that a the ruling party’s Udhunia Union ward-2 unit Awami League President Abdur Rashid along with four of his cohorts cut off a woman’s hair in Sirajganj on false accusations.
According to the report, the incident took place on Nov 25 and the woman lodged a case against the five people under the women and children repression prevention legislature.
